Business Chronology
Sam’s Former
Careers/Businesses in Chronological
order:
|
|
Woodbridge
Police Department— High School Co-op
Program. Gave out taxi & firearm
permits. I was justifiably fired.
You’ll need to hear my keynote to find
out why. |
|
I
was the chef. As far as I know, only 1
person got sick from my cooking. No
reported deaths. |
|
Company
was called CGD at the time. I was a
Telemarketer. Fired for poor sales.
Two years later I came back to work at
this company as a computer operator. |
|
Quit
after the first night. Manager wrote me
up for my register being $3 over what it
should have been. Yes, I meant over,
not under. I suggested that she pocket
the $3 and forget about it, but she
refused. |
|
Stocked
shelves and picked up carts from icy
parking lot during holiday season.. |
|
Made
foam boxes and drove moving truck. Quit
so I could focus on Technical School
finals (Cittone Institute which is now
owned by Lincoln Tech). |
|
Finally
a white-collar job. I was a
receptionist. |
|
My
first IT job after Technical School.
Company was called Jeri-Jo
Knitwear/Currants at the time. I
printed reports at night. I was laid
off, then came back to work for them a
month later. |
|
No,
this isn’t the real estate office. It’s
a department store across the street
from the World Trade Center in NYC. I
used to fix cash registers. At first I
was working here during the day and at
the above job at night. After 3 months
I got burnt out and quit the night job. |
|
At
age 19 joined this MLM. Invaluable
experience. Their system of books,
tapes, & seminars helped mold me into
the person I am today. Ultimately, I
left because my heart wasn’t in it.
|
|
Worked
at Ma’ Bell on 3 different occasions.
At one point supported their
senior-level executives. I used to go
to their private hangar as well. |
|
I
was a human answering machine for them
for one week. I got paid to read a
wonderful book called
Powerful Stuff. |
|
I was doing
regular desktop support, executive
support and managed the deploy team.
Luckily I met my wife Christina at this
company before I left. |
|
I
headed up the Windows NT rollout team.
Lots of politics led to me leaving. |
|
I
will always have a warm place in my
heart for this company. I was there for
over 5 years till the company was sold
to NBTY. Once the sale was final, twenty of my
friends were laid off. I didn’t want to work there
anymore after that. |
|
I
worked during weekends at Compusa and
Staples as a rep for HP to promote their
line of PC’s, Laptops and Printers. |
|
I
supported their senior-level
executives. This was a valuable
experience to see first-hand how a
multi-billion dollar company is run at
the highest level. Got to stay at
5-Star Hotels and visit 7-figure homes.
Also got to frequent their private
hanger. |
|
Partnership
with a friend of mine to resell a
novelty ice cream. |
|
Became
a RTA (Referral Travel Agent) to enjoy
the same perks as travel agents and help
others do the same. Now I travel at
wholesale instead of retail. Visit
www.skydivatravel.info to learn more. |
|
I
am a keynote speaker with Rising Above,
LLC. After a long journey, I realize
that my calling and passion is speaking
in front of large crowds.
I enjoy being a ham
on stages around the world and creating
products such as books and audio sets.
The rest of my time
is devoted to my wife, vacationing, and
helping others grow. |
|
You may be wondering….What is my
long-term vision? |
|
My
long-term dream is to continue keynoting
and produce an animated movie about
Napoleon. I would then sell the DVD on
infomercials.
I would love Joe
Pesci to play the voice. I find
Napoleon’s story incredibly
inspirational. This would be helpful
for children to get interested in
learning history.
